His words give the listener a view into King’s intelligent mind. Anyone can rap about drugs, cars, bitches, and money but it takes skill and knowledge to do something different and I give major props to Curtiss King for pulling it off. I’ve been single since May of this year and though most would still consider me “newly single”, I’ve already adjusted to my new relationship status. Okay so let’s say you met somebody new and you guys hit it off. Great! It gets your adrenaline pumpin’ a little and you feel like maybe “you still got it”! Maybe being single isn’t so bad after all! Who knew?! But what happens next now that you have “new prey” locked into your radar? This may not be the case for everybody but , it seems like what usually follows next can be classified into three stages: The Honeymoon Stage, the Reality Stage, and The Decision Stage.


Part III: The Decision

Unfortunately for some people, they go through “The Reality Stage” after they have already committed themselves to this person. Hopping into a relationship during The Honeymoon stage is inadvisable. Learn about someone before you rush into a relationship. A lot of times people think that just because they have told someone their deepest & darkest secrets, they are in the clear for a relationship now. Well I’ve noticed that people let these secrets out either right before or after they begin having sex or at least getting to third base. Sex is the center point of the Honeymoon Stage. Please do not let it hinder your vision from what’s really going on! Sex & relationship are two different things and if you did not figure that out quickly, you are probably one of the people who noticed too late that you don’t really like the person you are with. Now it’s time for you to make “The Decision”. You can either run away from “the reality” you just now noticed or you can stay in your relationship and work on the things you do not like. Relationships can often be just that….WORK! Save yourself the trouble and focus…. Relationships are a big part of life and can majorly effect what happens the next couple months or even YEARS in your life! Choose the moves that you make wisely and you can find yourself starting the three stages all over again….during your ACTUAL HONEYMOON! ::Shrug:: who knows?!

With that said, let me tell you about “The Reality Stage”. Well, it has everything to do with the future of it. During this stage, you are able to calm down a little on all the “lovey dovey” actions you’ve developed with your new partner and you can use some of that time you’ve devoted to “see” them for who they are….. good & bad. During the Honeymoon Stage you see your new friend in the “may appear or might be imagined” form of reality. You have focused on all the good things you like about them and have let these new feelings, you enjoy experiencing, cloud your judgment. The Reality Stage will help you to see the flaws you might have missed while you were busy making out and cupcakin’. I bet you never noticed how much she slobbers all on you when yall kiss or maybe you never noticed that he interrupts you midway through all of your sentences. There are several things about an individual that we begin to notice the more time we spend with them. Do these things bother you to the point where you would not be able to “put up “with these flaws everyday for the rest of your relationship?

The Honeymoon Stage is usually filled with a lot of excitement both mentally and physically. It’s like finding out that the person you have had a crush on feels the same way and now you guys are celebrating the connection by doing extra cute things for each other and spending all your free time together. Many people have claimed to fall “in love” during the Honeymoon Stage but please do not let the glitz and glammour of “a new love” fool you. Everything that glitters ain’t gold.

Alright tonight I’m checking out, Inglewood’s own, Young Nephew. Shoutout to all my Inglewood peoples…. ;) muuuwaah! But anywaaayyy….. I don’t remember where I have heard the name before but it sounds so so familiar. I’m not even going to take a guess at where I first heard about Young Nephew. I’m meeting him now. Let’s do it! *presses play*

Aaayyyy!! This that “ratchet” music.. *prepares mind mentally* I fux with it tho! .. I like the beat… simple shxt but that’s all you really need with beats like this.. As long as the beat bang you good. It does get kind of annoying 1:20 in because of how repetitive it is.. Young Nephew has a cool little verse but I like the hook better. His lyrics are comedy tho… raunchy… but funny as hell!

Ooh this beat is beautiful. Reminds me of something my little bro fResH B would make. Good shxt. I really wish producers could get their shoutout in the song if not on the title. I hate not knowing who the genius is behind the boards. Cause this beat is dope as hell. Young nephew had a cool little verse on it too. Wish he would have got a Lloyd type singer on the hook that would have just been past sexy. Aj Jaye on second. Quality went down a little bit…sounds like a new rapper. Cool cool. I saw the video for this song last night. Big cars, bad bxtches, and big chains. I’m kinda confused now tho. On a lot of his tracks, Nephew talks about how it’s sad that in the game a chain is more important than the talent. I just feel like it’s a contradiction. The song is cool tho just wish he would have approached it in a way that made sense with his other message. I feel you on needing a single tho. The people gotta dance to something.

I like Young Nephew but I am a little confused. I heard a lot of real shxt on this mixtape and appreciate him sharing his thoughts. I just wish he didn’t do things like talk about people making songs bout certain shxt then he makes a song about what he just said….nevermind. Nephew has a great West Coast sound and I could definitely hear him on the radio. This mixtape was long as fuck tho and now I gotta rush & get ready for work.
